Updated on 2 October 2026. Prices checked the same day on OpenAI’s official pages and on the French App Store: Free, Go, Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise, with our ChatGPT Go vs ChatGPT Plus comparison.

Free, Go at €8, Plus at €23, Pro from €103, not counting the business plans. It is easy to hesitate.
And the line-up changed a lot in 2026: ads in the free version and in Go since late August, new models, and three Pro tiers.
The right plan depends mainly on what you hand over to ChatGPT each week.
Here is what each plan costs, what Go changes compared with Plus, and how to choose yours
“ChatGPT Go is designed for people who want expanded access to our latest model […] at a more affordable price.” OpenAI, 16 January 2026.
In brief
- ChatGPT costs from €0 to €510 a month for an individual: Free €0, Go €8, Plus €23, Pro €103, €229 or €510 (French App Store prices as of 2 October 2026).
- ChatGPT Go (€8) is enough for everyday use for writing, questions and images, with ten times more messages, files and images than the free version.
- ChatGPT Plus (€23) remains the right choice for work: advanced reasoning with GPT-6, expanded deep research and Codex, no ads.
- Go and Free may show ads in France since late August 2026. Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise do not.
- Pro is for intensive use (research, coding, long analyses); the $200 tier has been closed to new subscribers since 10 September 2026.
- For businesses, look at Business (from $20 per seat per month): your data is not used to train the models by default.

All ChatGPT prices in 2026
How much does ChatGPT cost per month? It depends on the plan. OpenAI shows its prices in dollars on its official page; in France, consumer prices are shown in euros including VAT, for example on the App Store. Here are both, checked on 2 October 2026.

ChatGPT Free: €0.
Unlimited text conversations with GPT-5.6 Luna, but images, files, voice, deep research and Codex are limited. Ads may be shown.
ChatGPT Go: €8 a month
($8 on OpenAI’s page, €7.99 on the App Store). More messages with tools, more files, images and voice conversations, and expanded memory. Ads may be shown.
ChatGPT Plus: €23 a month
($20, €22.99 on the App Store). Advanced reasoning with GPT-6, expanded deep research and Codex, projects, scheduled tasks and custom GPTs. No ads.
ChatGPT Pro: from €103 a month
($100). Three usage tiers: €102.99, €229 and €509.99 on the App Store. Access to GPT-6 Astra, covered in our article on GPT-6 Astra, unlimited images, maximum deep research. The $200 tier has not accepted new subscribers since 10 September 2026.
ChatGPT Business: $20 per seat per month
billed annually, $25 billed monthly. A Premium seat costs $100 ($125 monthly) for five times more usage. From 2 to 200 people.
ChatGPT Enterprise: on quote,
for large organisations.
No consumer plan offers annual billing: Go, Plus and Pro are paid monthly and can be cancelled at any time.
Which ChatGPT plan should you choose?
Start from your actual usage: how often, and what you hand over to ChatGPT.

You ask a few questions a week:
stay on the free version. Text conversations are unlimited.
You use it every day to write, summarise and create images:
choose Go. You will no longer hit the file and image limits, for €8 a month.
You use it for work:
choose Plus. Advanced reasoning, expanded deep research and no ads are worth the €15 difference as soon as ChatGPT becomes part of your professional work.
You spend your days on it (coding, research, long analyses):
look at Pro at €103, and only move up if you hit the limits.
You are equipping a team:
go for Business, for centralised administration and data protection. If you are still torn between several assistants, compare Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini first.
ChatGPT Go vs ChatGPT Plus: the differences
Go is the paid entry point. Launched in India in August 2025, it arrived in France at the end of 2025, then in every country where ChatGPT is available on 16 January 2026.

What Go includes:
everything in Free, plus ten times more messages, file uploads and image creations, longer memory and context, more frequent data analysis with Python (handy for your Excel spreadsheets), and access to projects, tasks, custom GPTs and the library. Think mode (reasoning) is included, with GPT-5.6 Luna.
What Plus adds:
advanced reasoning with GPT-6, higher limits for messages and files, more precise image generation, expanded deep research and Codex, access to ChatGPT Work on desktop, web and mobile, and early access to new features. And no ads.
| Criterion | ChatGPT Go | ChatGPT Plus |
|---|---|---|
| Price in France | €8 a month | €23 a month |
| Model | GPT-5.6 Luna, Think mode included | Advanced reasoning with GPT-6 |
| Messages and files | More than Free | Expanded limits |
| Images | 10 times more than Free | More advanced and precise generation |
| Deep research | Limited | Expanded |
| Codex | Limited | Expanded |
| Projects, custom GPTs | Yes | Yes, with scheduled tasks |
| Ads | Possible | None |
| Who it is for | Everyday use, small budget | Regular professional use |
In short: for €15 more a month, Plus adds GPT-6, expanded deep research and Codex, and removes ads.

It is the question we are asked most: how many images per day with ChatGPT Go?

OpenAI does not publish a daily figure. The only official benchmark dates from the global launch on 16 January 2026: Go gives ten times more image creations than the free version. Limits also vary with demand: OpenAI states that usage may be temporarily restricted at peak times. For Plus, the plan page mentions “more advanced and more precise” generation, with no published quota. Only Pro advertises unlimited images.
The models have also changed since Go’s global launch, when it ran on GPT-5.2 Instant. As of 2 October 2026, Free and Go run on GPT-5.6 Luna; Go does not include GPT-5.6 Sol. Plus gives access to advanced reasoning with GPT-6, and Pro to GPT-6 Astra.
To get the most out of images, our guide to ChatGPT Images 2.5 explains the settings.
To put it simply: a usage limit is like a mobile plan with no visible counter. You do not know how many gigabytes are left, only that the higher plan gives you more. When you reach the cap, ChatGPT tells you and you wait for the reset.
ChatGPT for businesses: Business or Enterprise?
For a team, one Plus subscription per person creates two problems: nobody manages the accounts, and conversations may be used to train the models unless each person turns this off.

ChatGPT Business, from 2 to 200 people:
$20 per seat per month billed annually. Centralised billing, connectors to Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack or GitHub, SSO authentication, and business data that is not used for training by default.
ChatGPT Enterprise, beyond that:
pricing on quote, with more advanced administration and security controls.
The point to watch:
licences do not train anyone. Teams need to practise on their own tasks. Our guide to training your teams on ChatGPT explains how to roll it out, and our corporate AI training starts from your use cases.

Subscribing takes two minutes. To choose the right plan, first observe your usage for a week.

1. Note your usage for a week.
How often you hit a limit, and on what: images, files, research.
2. Start with Go if you keep hitting the limits.
If after a month you still do not need advanced reasoning or deep research, stay there.
3. Move to Plus for work.
Profile, then “Upgrade plan”. Upgrading to a higher plan takes effect immediately.
4. Check your data settings.
In the settings, you can opt out of your conversations being used for training. Do this before adding professional documents.
