Feedback on the “AI Sisters Essential” Intervention at the CNC

An Awakening to AI for Film and Audiovisual Leaders

Our “AI Sisters Essential” session was specially designed for the management team of National Center for Cinema and Animated Images (CNC), a three-hour morning dedicated to exploring the horizons of artificial intelligence in the cinema and audiovisual sector.

Nuanced goals

Unlike our usual interventions, the aim was to offer a balanced and critical overview of AI technologies, without necessarily encouraging their immediate adoption. Emphasis was placed on information, awareness of the capabilities, limitations, and ethical considerations surrounding the use of AI.

Diversified and Extensive Program

The session was organized around two main segments:

Part I: Mastering Prompting and ChatGPT (1h30):

The first part of the morning was spent exploring ChatGPT and its applications in the film industry, with practical demonstrations such as scenario generation, script review, and script criticism.

Concrete cases presented:

  • ChatGPT for Film Performance Analysis: Using ChatGPT as a code interpreter to review movie sales data, offering valuable insights for distribution strategies.
  • ChatGPT for Visual Recognition: Demonstration of ChatGPT's ability to identify and analyze movie posters, a promising application for marketing and content classification.

Part II: Presentation of Advanced AI Tools (1h30)

The discussion then turned to more advanced AI tools, illustrating their potential with concrete cases adapted to the sector, such as movie generation or the making of short films.

Concrete cases presented:

  • Video Content Creation: Introducing HeyGen and Eleven Labs for the generation of video and synthetic voices, opening new paths for audiovisual production.
  • Image Generation and Extension: Exploring the capabilities and limitations of MidJourney and Canvas, in particular to design a context around an existing image or to expand it, stimulating creativity in the visual design process.

Strategic Thoughts

Time was also spent thinking about improving the online visibility of the CNC through AI, considering strategies to increase the impact of their digital presence.

The session was also an opportunity to discuss crucial strategic and ethical issues:

  • Security and Confidentiality: A constructive debate has emerged on the secure implementation of AI at the CNC, underlining the importance of protecting sensitive data and content.
  • Position Paper on Biases: Discussion on the need to recognize and counter the biases inherent in AI models, especially those coming from non-European sources.
  • French IA models: Reflection on the potential advantage of adopting AI models developed in France to align AI tools with local values and norms.

A Turning Point for the CNC

The intervention aroused strong interest and significant awareness among CNC leaders. Impressed by the revealed capabilities of AI, they decided to launch an AI training program for the 400 employees of the CNC, showing their commitment to integrating these new skills into the heart of their institution.

This initiative at CNC perfectly illustrates our ability to adapt our interventions to the specific needs of each organization, with an emphasis on a thorough and nuanced understanding of AI, in order to better inform strategic decisions in the film and audiovisual sector.

AI Sisters. had the chance to form the National Center for Cinema and Animated Images (CNC) marking our first collaboration with a government agency in the field of artificial intelligence ✨🇫🇷
On the program, an immersive 3-hour session divided into two parts:
Part 1 - ChatGPT and The Art of Prompting
Part 2 - Exploring advanced AI tools
Each of our examples and prompts was adapted to the cinema sector 🎥: Writing and correcting a scenario, creating your own avatar, translating a voice into all languages and many others...
