The 3 most common mistakes
Create a skill that tries to do everything. One skill = one task. A “communication” skill that covers emails + LinkedIn + reports will always be less effective than 3 separate skills. Precision is what makes it powerful.
Never update the skill after a miss. Each mistake Claude makes is a sign of improvement, not a fatality. Add the missing rule, the Skill gets better with each use.
Write a description that is too vague. “Writing content” will trigger everything. Be surgical: the more precise the description, the more the Skill is triggered at the right time and produces the right result.
